Student success statement
A choice: Poverty or prosperity
“I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and i can change that (poverty). It depends upon how hard i work, and i decided that i would change it.”
-Dr.Ben Carson
What this quote means is that if you are going to something ad, in this case being poor and you set your mind and tell yourself that it’ll end, you will no longer worry about it. A lot of people think less of themselves. The story of Dr.Ben should motivate you into being a better person and trying your best to succeed. He  was really poor and was one of the worst students in his school. One day his mother came home and made a change. Instead of watching T.v for hours she told him and his brother that they would read and educate themselves. Education is the key to success. His mother didn’t just want to be on welfare. She wanted what was best for her children and look at him now. He’s a well known surgeon and is truly educated. Why? Because he made a choice and he didn’t like poverty. He knew it wasn’t going to be forever so he didn’t give up. Anything is possible in this world. You just have to set goals for yourself and don’t give no matter what. If you want something you work hard for it. One day you’ll be truly proud having your dream job, always having food to eat, a roof over your head, helping others. You choose what you want, anything is possible. Choose the right.
