Veterinary physician

Duties and responsibilities: veterinarians are in charge of the healthcare needs of animals, including pets, livestock ,zoo and laboratory animals. Some are in charge of taking care of companion animals such as cats and dogs. They diagnose illness and perform medical procedures. A small number are equine veterinarians who treat horses, and food animal vets who work with farm animals. There are some vets who specialize in food safety and inspection.They check livestock for illnesses that can be transmitted to humans. Others are research veterinarians who do research on human and animal health conditions. They all focus in animals and their well being.

Salary: $84,460

Education: must have a doctoral or professional degree

Demand for this particular career: this job has increased 12% ever since 2010 and it is necessary because animals should be treated especially since there are a lot throughout the world.

Reflection: i would love to be a veterinarian because i love animals. When i was small my dream was to have my own shelter where i’d take care of dogs . This career seems very interesting and cool especially because of those who treat wild animals.
